Despite challenges, Balochistan youth excelled in all fields: Rana Mashood

QUETTA, Jul 22 (APP): Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan on Monday said that Pakistan could integrate 1 to 1.5 million youth into the global market.

“Despite challenges, the youth in Balochistan have excelled in various fields, serving as role models. The government, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is striving hard to equip youth of Balochistan with latest technology and skills,”

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at BUITEMS on “Accessible Social Entrepreneurship for Balochistani youth, organized with the support of PPAF, NIC, BUITEMS and other institutions.

He noted that the federal government was providing interest-free loans through the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, benefiting millions of families to initiate small and medium business.

He highlighted the importance of unity and the role of youth in facing conspiracies against Pakistan as saying by engaging youth in healthy and educational activities, the propaganda against the country could be shun effectively.

The IT industry’s current volume is PKR 2.5 billion and government aims to expand it to PKR 25 billion to meet the global demand and provide streams to the unemployed and skilled youth of the country, he said.

Rana Mashood pointed out that climate change, despite Pakistan’s minimal contribution, brought severe floods, yet global assistance was lacking. “We have decided to establish a National Volunteer Corp to address the climate-related issues on our own”.

CEO PPAF, Nadir Gul Baraich highlighted the Fund’s collaboration with federal and provincial governments, supporting 10 million beneficiaries and providing loans to 200,000 families.

The PPAF’s initiatives have positively impacted over 400,000 students in rural and marginalised areas of the country.
With 65 percent of Pakistan’s population being young, private sector support is crucial for reducing unemployment, and more efforts are needed to provide opportunities for the youth, he emphasized.
