ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP):Smog is likely to engulf plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and most parts of Punjab during the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
While dense fog is likely to prevail during morning/night hours.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country till tomorrow.
Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while cold in hilly areas during morning/night hours.
However, cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm (light snowfall over high mountains) is likely at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the last 24 hours, dry weather remained in most parts of the country, while cold in hilly areas.
Smog/dense foggy conditions prevailed in most areas of Punjab.
However, rain-wind/thunderstorm occur in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The rainfall recorded was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kakul 27mm, Malam Jabba 10, Kalam, Pattan09, Balakot 07, Mir Khani, Saidu Sharif, Takht Bai 04, Dir (upper 03, Lower 01), Chitral 01, Kashmir: Garhidupatta 13, Muzaffarabad (Airport, City 07), Rawalakot 03, Punjab: Murree 10, Gilgit Baltistan: Hunza02, Astore,Chilas01mm.
The lowest minimum temperatures recorded were Leh -02C, Kalat 03C.
