ISLAMABAD, Aug 11 (APP):Javelin superstar and Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem on Sunday expressed excitement about celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day with a victory for the nation.
Speaking to a private news channel, Nadeem shared his joy in bringing happiness to the entire country, calling it the greatest satisfaction of his life.
“The love from the nation means more to me than my performance,” he said.
“I am thankful to the entire nation for the incredible welcome at the airport and for all the encouragement,” he said.
Nadeem received a hero’s welcome upon his arrival in Mian Channu, his hometown, on Sunday afternoon.
Crowds gathered to meet the Olympic champion, who had earlier landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
During the Paris Olympics 2024, Nadeem set a new Olympic record by throwing the javelin an impressive 92.97 meters, securing his place in history as one of the sport’s greats.
The celebrations in Lahore were attended by a large crowd, including Nadeem’s family members, federal ministers, and dignitaries.
Supporters from Mian Channu also traveled to Lahore to join in the festivities, honoring their hometown hero.
