Photographic exhibition“Blacks, Whites & Grays” unveiled at PNCA


ISLAMABAD, Sep 04 (APP):Photographic Exhibition “Blacks, Whites & Greys” by an acclaimed photographer and writer, Muhammad Azhar Hafeez opened at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Wednesday, attracting art enthusiasts through showcasing exquisite collection of black and white photographs.
The exhibition showcased a stunning collection of black-and-white photographs that capture the subtle nuances of human experience.
This exhibition embodies the timeless adage, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” featuring a remarkable collection of images that vividly capture the diverse landscapes of Pakistan and the everyday lives of its people.
Through his lens, Hafeez took all on a visual journey that celebrates the rich beauty found in the faces and breathtaking sceneries across our nation.
The exhibition garnered significant attention from the art enthusiasts, with many praising Hafeez’s ability to capture the essence of life through the lens of black-and-white photography.
Renowned filmmaker and journalist, Wajahat Malik, this is not just an exhibition but an invitation to experience the world through a new lens, where simplicity meets depth, and every shade tells a story.
The exhibition is expected to attract art enthusiasts, photographers, and literature lovers alike, offering them an enriching cultural experience.
In addition to the exhibition, Hafeez also launched his latest books, which include BilaUnwaan 1 & 2, Photographer and Laylpurya.
Many notable speakers talked about the works and books of Hafeez.
Notably, artist and writer Maria Qureshi shared her admiration for Hafeez’s work, emphasizing the profound impact of his literary contributions.
 “He has depicted universal emotions through his writings, offering readers a deep connection to the human experience. His exceptional work, particularly in the form of articles, showcases a diverse range—from the mystical to the entertaining,” Qureshi stated.
A senior journalist, Mohsin Raza said that Hafeez’s writings belongs to everyone.
He said “while going through his stories, it seems that every story belong to the common people like us.” He has beautifully depicted emotions of a common man.
Spanning a career of over three decades, his work captures the raw contrasts of life, making this exhibition and book launch a significant milestone in his artistic journey.
Each photograph in this collection is a testament to Hafeez’s exceptional ability to convey the profound essence of Pakistan’s natural and cultural heritage. His work not only showcases the stunning diversity of our country but also evokes a deep sense of pride in the abundant blessings that God has bestowed upon our homeland.
The “Blacks, Whites & Greys” exhibition will remain open to the public till  September 11.
Born in Lyallpur (now Faisalabad) in 1971, Hafeez has built a distinguished career in visual arts, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the National College of Arts, Lahore, and an M.Phil in Media Studies from Riphah University, Islamabad.
Over the years, he has developed a unique voice in monochromatic photography, with 12 solo exhibitions and four critically acclaimed books to his name.
