Mainly dry, hot weather likely in most parts of country: PMD


ISLAMABAD, Oct 08 (APP):Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry and hot weather for most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
However, rain wind/thunderstorm may occur in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave was present over western and upper parts of the country.
During the last 24 hours, rain windstorm/thunderstorm occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.
The rainfall recorded was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kalam 31mm, Dir (Upper 29mm, Lower 15), Chitral 20, Drosh 19, Peshawar (Airport 15, City 12), Bannu 15, Malam Jabba 14, Mir Khani 11, Parachinar 05, Mardan 04, Cherat 03, Saidu Sharif 01, Punjab: Kot Addu 05, Layyah 03, Dera Ghazi Khan 02, Bhakkar 01, Gilgit Baltistan: Gilgit, Gupis, Bagrote, Hunza 04, Astore 02, Bunji 01, Kashmir: Muzaffarabad (Airport 04, City 04), Rawalakot 04mm.
The highest temperatures recorded were Nawabshah, Chhor 41C and Mithi 40C.
